It's no secret that there was a civil war within the space over royalties. On one hand, there was the argument for the determination of projects to create a sustainable model by being more careful with funds. On the other hand, there was the creation of an aligned incentive between creators and holders. Creators earn on every sale and holders fuel the projects they care about. We remained very much in the support of creator royalties so fully support Art Blocks with this new platform which ensures artists' royalties are fully honoured.

🗞️ AIRLINE ADOPTS NFT TICKETS

• South American Airline, Flybondi, are the first airline to adopt the new ticketing system.

• TravelX who introduced the technology is in discussions with over 60 airlines.

• Customers will be able to trade, transfer or re-sell tickets.

🕵️ Scoops take:

It is estimated that there are 500,000 people in the air at any given time and roughly 6 million people across the world take a flight that day. This news is extremely bullish for mass NFT adoption given the numbers and even though the airline that has taken off first isn't a world-renowned name, the conversations with 60 other airlines should get you excited. Ticketing is arguably one of the easiest platforms to bridge to Web3 so let's hope we see this market fly this year.

🗞️ UK GOVERNMENT DITCHES ROYAL MINT NFT

• Current Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, ordered the creation of the NFT back in April 2022.

• The Royal Mint, has decided to not proceed with the launch.

• The proposal will remain under review.

🕵️ Scoops take:

It does seem like the whole idea was a bit of a waste of time. There was no formal proposal of what the NFT would look like, any technical explanation of how it would work, what utility would be offered and what Blockchain infrastructure would be used. There is certainly apprehension towards NFTs in the wider communities of the UK so maybe this decision to postpone it wasn't a bad one but the space has been dragged through the mud with the reasoning. Whist AI photo avatars are nothing new (we've all seen the flurry of Lensa images flooding our socials), being able to mint them as NFTs a unique take that would allow users to connect and make use across multiple platforms that we reckon could be pretty neat.

😡 THE REKT SECTION 😡

They are far too busy planning the new "tough" crypto laws that are said to be coming this year.

In terms of not proceeding with the Royal Mint, it is fair enough due to the steady introduction that the UK needs concerning NFTs.

What we are really unhappy about is the Politicians that have tarnished the space which will only add to the apprehension of adoption. Comments such as "Crypto Gimmick" and "NFT vanity project promoting dodgy stablecoins" have been used by senior officials in justifying the drop.

All that was required was a simple "it's not the right time" but instead the UK has taken 1 step forward and 2 back in creating a positive NFT mood in the UK.

🏆 WEEKLY WINNER 🏆

Now and then a new project hits the marketplace that just cements its place towards the top of the leaderboard.

This time, it's Nakamigos.

The 20,000-item collection launched on the 23rd of March via a mix of pre-access and public mint via Dutch auction.

The project quickly sold out and the floor price rocketed before the usual slight retracement.

Since its launch, the project has witnessed 8724 ETH of trading volume with the floor reaching a high of 0.44 ETH.

The current price, at the time of writing, is back at 0.26 ETH with 43 items until a 0.3 Floor.

The boat for mega profit may have passed but there was certainly an opportunity for excellent profits to have been made.

So well done to those that managed some gains and well done to the project on a successful launch.
