The chart above represents the volumes of ETH in NFTs being traded right now, in comparison to the highs of January this year. Right in front of your eyes. Look how scared people are, they’re running for the hills. But not you, you’re here with Scoop. Now when we say be greedy when others are fearful, we’re not suggesting to go an ape into any old PFP in the hope of drastic returns, but… we are presented with a big opportunity. That being to pick up Blue chip NFTs at a discount.

Perhaps you can’t afford an Ape a Moonbird or a Doodle? No problem, most blue chip collections allow you into their ecosystem via smaller secondary & almost always cheaper collections. Otherdeeds, Moonbirds Oddities, Doodles Dooplicator ring a few bells.

Do Kwon on The Run…Or is He?

We told you last week that Do Kwon, Terraform Labs’ co-founder who suffered a $40 billion wipeout in May this year, was on the run…well we weren’t quite sure.

As reported, South Korean prosecutors have accused Kwon of financial fraud and Kwon dismissed the severity of the matter by stating he was not on the run.

Well, further developments suggest that Do Kwon is most certainly on the run and the matter remains fairly serious as Interpol has issued a red notice for Do Kwon, requesting law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and arrest him.

Perhaps the most surpassing twist in this tale would be the price action of Terra Luna Classic which is actually up 36.6% just yesterday !

He’s not quite reached the Crypto Queen levels of on the run, but he’s certainly gaining those GTA stars.

Apple Introduces Charges for NFT Marketplace

Apple is creating a function that will allow for NFT-based apps to be available on the App Store.

However, there is a pretty significant catch that comes along with this. Apple is including a 30% transaction fee for all transactions, a charge that has left many involved in NFT companies arguing that the charge is unreasonable and simply not feasible for their existence in the store.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney took to his Twitter to share his thoughts on the fee, and it seems he is not in the minority.

With annual revenue of $365.817Bn, it’s easy to see why Apple feels the fee is justified.

Disney is Expanding

Disney has taken a big step in putting out a job advertisement for a corporate lawyer for emerging technologies and NFTs.

The advertisement post goes into quite a bit of detail about what the soon-to-be new employee will be undertaking and it seems Disney is leaving no Metaverse stone unturned.

The role will include Corporate Transactions, Emerging Technologies & NFTs to work on transactions involving NFTs, the Metaverse, blockchain, and decentralized finance.

Maybe those shocking log floom photos will be sold as NFTs.. forever burned into the blockchain. In all seriousness with the financial firepower behind the company, we are glued to where they will take their next step.

UK Crypto Law Regarding Criminals

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that our world isn’t solely used for us degens to build a nice portfolio or create a 2nd / 3rd income…we are unfortunately also inundated with those illegally using the space.

Well, The UK, has set in motion laws to have a real crackdown on the latter and it seems to be progressing quickly.

A new law has been introduced which, and not solely, will grant authorities additional powers to seize and recover crypto tied to suspected criminals.

Titled the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill passed through its first hurdle at the end of last week and the law seeks to amend several parts of the country’s Proceeds of Crime Act, while also bolstering anti-money laundering powers.

I suppose the counterargument is we are either regulated or we aren’t…maybe there is a solution where a bit of both wouldn’t do too much harm.

Walmart Enter the Metaverse

It was announced on the 26th of September 2022 that retail giant Walmart has followed up the trademarks filed way back in January and shall launch two new metaverse experiences on the virtual game platform, Roblox.

The two experiences will be called Walmart Land and Walmart’s Universe of Play. Both of the experiences offer Walmart customers interactive content and entertainment.

Walmart Land brings customers virtual fashion, style, beauty, and entertainment items directly to the global Roblox community of over 52 million daily users while Walmart’s Universe of Play will offer games and virtual toys.

Virtual toys could be a great way for the kids’ virtual stockings to be filled this year!

Napster Hires new CEO and Shares New Venture

Speaking of Roblox, Napster has hired former Roblox Vice President and Global Head of Music Jon Vlassopulos as its next CEO.

The company also announced a new funding round with participation from existing investors and new backers including Hivemind, Algorand, SkyBridge Capital, Alumni Ventures, Borderless Capital, and G20 Ventures, which will accelerate Napster’s Web3 initiatives.

Napster is also launching Napster Ventures which will focus on fostering, investing in, and acquiring the best Web3 music startups.

We identified Music and Entertainment as an industry that is ripe for disruption through NFT technology…. Don’t let us down Jon!

Well, this week’s winner comes from the staple group that is Yuga Labs.

On the 13th of September, we said this is where we would be blowing our 5-10 ETH this week as we are of course “Bullish on Yuga

The price at the time was 12.86 ETH and at the start of last week, the price was 13.7ETH.

Well, The Mutant Apes have had a real boom this week as the floor price has shot up just shy of 3 ETH to 16.5 ETH with only 12 sales until the 17 ETH price is reached (at the time of writing)

If you saw the above chart and guessed it was meme coin or rugged project. You would have been mistaken. The above chart is actually the £ on its sinking mission since the mini-budget announcement last week, against the US Dollar.

So as the £ sinks to its lowest strength since 1985…. (none of the Scoop Team were even thought of never mind born on this planet), the Government is here to tell us about regulation whilst we see our IRL currency collapse.
