Bored Ape Hit 1m Followers….some next steps revealed

The Bored Ape Yacht Club reached its latest milestone in amassing 1 million followers on Twitter.

In light of the milestone, rumors are circulating that the next roadmap could be with us imminently (of course….not released officially before we started writing). BAYC will be hosting a Twitter space tonight which is sure to drop some Alpha.

Ahead of the Twitter spaces, we have managed to come across some rumors regarding what we can expect such as P2E Games and an influx of utility surrounding the Bored Ape Kennel Club.

However, as nothing is confirmed we will need to just be patient with this one, for now, we will however share the leaked roadmap with you below.

This was not the only news surrounding BAYC this week, a video from infamous group Anonymous surfaced on 14th August stating they were going to be undertaking a review into the group.

However, the video has not appeared on the official page of Anonymous so we are slightly skeptical of its legitimacy…..here’s a copy decide for yourselves.

If the video does turn out to be “fake” we suspect this will have derived from the RBAYC community who don’t need any encouragement to bring Yuga Labs down.

NFL Superbowl Tickets

Last year The NFL announced that attendees of Super Bowl will receive a virtual copy of their match ticket in the form of an NFT.

Well it looks like the uptake was a real success as The NFL are set to do the same again.

As we have previously predicted, match tickets in the form of an NFT will become the regular thing. We have already witnessed paper tickets virtually phased out for digital tickets and with Ticketmaster being the driving force of the NFT ticket space this move could happen sooner rather than later.

Dubai aims to become the metaverse capital of the world

New York is the Capital of Finance and Lyon is the capital of gastronomic…..well Dubai wishes to become the Metaverse capital.

According to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed the government of Dubai will look to create 40,000 jobs in the Metaverse over the next five years and add $4 billion into the economy through Metaverse and Web3 development.

Dubai currently boasts over 1,000 blockchain and metaverse businesses with a $500 million economic impact on the country.

It is nice to see some real progression in the UAE whereas in the western world we are just being threatened with regulation and scaremongering.

Eth Whale Awakens

An unknown Ethereum ICO participant distributed 145,000 ETH.. an eye-watering ($274 million) to new wallets.

The owner of the wallet has been inactive for the last three years however in total, the investor made 14 transactions of 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 ETH

Certainly making a splash in the crypto world.

Progression in the space is what we are after and this weeks winner is providing just that.

Revolut, a European digital bank, received authorization from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission to offer crypto services across the European Economic Area

The EEA covers the 27 countries that are in the European Union, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

The authorization however does not currently cover the UK which following Brexit is no longer in the EEA.

This is a real positive step in the space, it is great to see a bank offering the trading of over 80 cryptocurrencies through their own app.

We hope this is just the beginning of a worldwide domino effect.

Things go from bad to worse for Celsius.

The Texas State Securities Board has stated that the lender has failed to outline how it plans to benefit creditors by offloading their crypto.

Celsius recently stated that they hoped their mining business will help in repaying creditors however lawyers representing Celsius’ unsecured creditors committee wrote in an August 11 court filing that the effects of Celsius monetizing its mining business aren’t clear and requested more insight.

It’s estimated Celsius currently owes $4.7 billion to more than 100,000 creditors so they best get their act together and start to paint a straight picture otherwise they will never get out of this mess they have found themselves in.

Opensea changes stolen NFT Policy

We told you recently how Court proceedings were issued surrounding Opensea’s stolen NFT policy…..well changes have already been made.

In a series of tweets, the company outlined what was changing and we attach a link to the thread here.

What is most notable is now when reporting theft of an NFT to Opensea users will require a police report to be filed within 7 days, or else the item will be re-enabled for trading.

The changes will also allow users who previously reported an item as stolen to re-enable trading once the stolen NFT has recovered.

On paper, this seems like a good move however as always with Opensea issues present themself out of nowhere so we will await to see the process in action before cracking any champagne….. not that we want to participate ourselves

State of the Market ⚡

We will keep this one brief.. the overall NFT market social sentiment has dropped down from cool to cold. Why the hate guys? We personally feel HOT about NFTs, we wish the masses did right now too. In the words of Terminator, “They will be back”

Floor prices have taken a beating across the board, and the NFT Blue Chip index has trended down over the past few days. Yup things are a little Rocky, to say the least. We expect a change in NFTs being launched in the coming weeks & months with real tangible utility delivered to holders.

The messiah has spoken (Vitalik Buterin) and said the official date of the Ethereum Merge will be on the 15th of September on the topic of crypto, the market has remained fairly buoyant with Bitcoin briefly hitting $25K and $ETH holding just below $2k, with seeing some Altcoins rallying as much as 33% today.
