• CrypToadz NFT #4030 was sold for $1.6 million in Ethereum on OpenSea, significantly above market value.

• The buyer paid an additional fee of almost $42,000 in ETH to OpenSea.

• The purchase raised suspicions of potential money laundering or wash trading due to the involvement of Tornado Cash, a service linked to obscuring cryptocurrency flow.

• Tornado Cash is known for allowing users to enhance privacy in transactions, but has also been associated with money laundering concerns and was banned in the U.S. in 2022.

NFTs are being used to Fund the Film industry. Whoever said NFTs had no utility??

• "The Quiet Maid," a film funded through NFT sales, secures a global sales deal with Ibero-American entertainment firm FilmSharks.

• Directed by Miguel Faus, the film portrays a Colombian maid's experiences with a wealthy Spanish family on the Catalan coast.

• Originally titled "Calladita," the film was based on Faus's short film and gained attention after being featured on the streaming service Max and the festival circuit.

• NFT passes were sold to finance the feature-length version, raising a $750,000 production budget and offering holders behind-the-scenes access and control over a portion of future proceeds through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Steven Soderbergh also contributed $100,000 to complete the film through a blockchain-based fund.

Pretty impressive, It was only a matter of time before NFTs started making a positive impact on the entertainment industry.

Buyers of the NFT passes were brought closer to the making of the film, gaining access to backstage film production and will enjoy some control of proceeds of the film’s success via a DAO.

Duped by a fake "fraud investigator" who pretended to be a PNC Bank official, Marjorie liquidated her assets to cryptocurrency under the premise of safeguarding her funds.
