Two German Car Brands Accelerate Web3 Plans

They are entering the race at different stages but as far as intentions go it's top speed with no brakes.

Let's Start with Porsche. This week, the company announced that it will be launching 7500 NFTs to be used in a "virtual world"

The details known so far certainly make for an exciting prospect:

1. The collection will be launching in January.

2. Users will be able to customize the features of the cars which will all be the 911 model.

3. The collection will be designed in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 so the belief is gaming interactions are coming.

Now on to the second, BMW. 

We won't get into the debate of whether the drivers use indicators. The only indication we care about is the direction the company has decided to go for, and we like it.

They have recently applied to trademark their logo on several Web3 avenues.

BMW's intention is for the logo to feature on virtual clothing, footwear, headwear, and vehicles whilst also suggesting there are plans for downloadable virtual goods such as online environments and games.

Uniswap Launches Marketplace Aggregator

We must say, it's pleasant to be able to share some positive news about an exchange in a positive light as opposed to doom and gloom.

In this world, there is some space for redemption. In case you forgot, we REKT Uniswap last month due to 97.7% of tokens launched on the exchange being rug-pulls.

The latest move is one that should be welcomed.

The company has announced that users can now trade NFTs on its protocol. The initial launch will allow for sales on platforms including Opensea, X2Y2, looksRare, Sudoswap, Larva Labs, NFT20 and NFTX.

So, the most important question is, what can you save?

Developers claim that investors will be able to save up to 15% on gas costs compared to other NFT aggregators.

Apple Halt Sending NFTs on Coinbase iOS

Apple gets a lot of things right but in this instance, they are miles off it.

The company has blocked NFTs from being able to be sent on Coinbase Wallet iOS. They haven't stopped there, Apple has also blocked Coinbase's latest app release until the feature is disabled.

You may have seen in non-Web3 news that Apple has been causing quite a bit of a ruckus with their stance regarding the 30% fee issue.

That issue has re-appeared and they have told Coinbase the reason for the block is due to "The gas fees required to send NFTs needs to be paid through Apple's In-App Purchase system, so they can collect 30% of the gas fees"

Coinbase hopes this is an oversight on Apple's behalf and wishes to discuss the matter further.

Following the news story above, there are so many concerns with this decision that has been made.

We trust that most of you understand the concept of NFTs and blockchains. If so, you will be well aware of how Apple's In-App purchase system does not support crypto, making it impossible for Coinbase to even comply with the terms set out.

The most concerning issue is for those who own NFTs within their iPhone Coinbase wallet, as it is now very challenging to transfer that NFT.

Overall, you'd think one of the most valuable tech companies in the world would be in favor of fostering adoption.

What the fuck is COCKPUNCH?

Some projects come around once in a while that we believe are destined for greatness.

This one probably is.

So, what the fuck is Cockpunch? Or specifically The Legend of Cockpunch.

Nope. It's not what you think and thankfully won't hurt too much. We hope.

As Crazy as the title sounds, there is a method to the madness. What we are about to share is an incredibly well-thought-out NFT project and the individual behind it may surprise you.

This section is slightly longer than normal, but if you're not excited by this project by the end you can write us your angry letter of complaint. This is Alpha.

Cockpunch is the latest brainchild of the widely successful American entrepreneur, investor, author, lifestyle guru & 5 X New York Times bestselling author Tim Ferris'

But how did all of this come around? Tim was inspired by this idea around 14 months ago and in his own words "It spun out of control from there".

Tim is redefining NFTs and creating a whole new category which he has dubbed 'Emergent Long fiction', which we are certain others will follow, but perhaps Tim has created his protective moat on this term. We will get on to that later.

As an NFT collection, The legend of Cockpunch consists of 5555 highly detailed battle-ready 3D roosters or 'Cocks' boasting 300 unique traits. An insane amount of work has gone into the project and on a recent Podcast with Bankless, Tim states that the Cockpunch avatars are probably more detailed than anything he has seen come out of major animation studios.

The NFTs will be minted on December 7th at 10 AM PST, followed by a reveal on December 9th.

Tim is taking a giant leap into the world of fiction and from what we understand no stone has been left unturned. As a huge fan of Sci-fi and fantasy, he plans to follow in the footsteps of the greats to create his new world.

Tim personally stated by minting a Cockpunch NFT, you will receive a very amusing JPEG & 3D file but also skin in the game into a new fantasy world & narrative...

He was clear to say "don't bet your college fund on it"

So where does Emergent Long Fiction come in & what is it? 'ELF' is long-form fiction with higher volumes than what other projects are willing to put into writing, which then emerges over time. But what if this project moons and starts a trend? Will other projects not copy it? Well, Tim & the team has stated that to be an Emergent Long Fiction project you must have 10k words minimum planned before launch (which is typically the upper end of a short story). In other words, some "half-assed lore on your website isn't going to cut it"

The story then emerges over time. How will the Cockpunch deliver the story? In true T Ferris style, it will be via blogs & podcasts in which he has already hired voice actors who narrate and add life to the story.

So, what is the story?... What is the legend of Cockpunch?

Well, if we knew. We would be developing Cockpunch. But what we do know is that the story is set in a period when chaos ruled with historic feuds between different houses & clans. For nations to gain supremacy and order they must use their athletes (Yes... those battle-ready roosters you will be minting). These cockfighters then battle it out in a colosseum / WWE-style arena, armed with weapons and then, well... smack the shit out of each other.

Sound ridiculous? It gets crazier. Tim has teased that you can expect religious & political systems, family history, and different forms of magic. But has assured us the narrative will glue this all together.

The project aims to keep things simple & successful. an NFT mint, which will give people skin in the game to the world he is building & other than that an immense story shared in blog & audio format. No metaverse, no shiny gadgets. Good old fashion fiction that is brought to life through your imagination with a sprinkle of NFT magic.

Though Tim also gave a teaser that there is a non-zero chance that maybe one day holders of the 'Cockpunch' avatars could battle each other... Maybe.

Why are we bullish on cockpunch?

First off Tim Ferris is a wildly successful individual who tackles projects with diligence and has the patience & resource to see it through to the end, something lacking in the NFT space right now. He also has a very strong network and is good friends with 'Kevin Rose' Founder of Proof Collective.

Secondly. He's not short of fans. The guy has received close to a billion podcast downloads. Having just 5555 NFTs available will make for some pretty interesting supply-demand dynamics. Number go up?!

Thirdly, the project has a first-mover advantage. Sure, there have been projects claiming to be story-based NFTs. But who has gone to the effort of writing 10,000 words before the launch of the NFT collection?

And finally, It's so ridiculous it just might work. In the words of Elon Musk, "He who controls the meme, controls the universe". The memetic qualities of a project called Cockpunch cannot be underestimated, and memes tend to do well pretty well with the NFT & Crypto sphere.

On a final note, 100% of the primary sale proceeds will go directly to fund The Saisei Foundation, which specializes in scientific research & clinical treatments of conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, opioid addiction, anorexia & PTSD.
