Lamborghini NFTs?!
NFT market sentiment picks up.
GM Scoop Family. You've been missed. Now let's dive in.
🍦STATE OF THE MARKET
NFT Total Market Cap - $22.71B - 7 day change +2.83%
Volume Traded Prev 7 Days - $285M +21.31%
Yo! we have broken the cool zone finally, having been stuck there for a time that seems like forever.
The crypto markets have certainly been on a rampage recently with majors slowly grinding up, ALT coins have taken a life of their own. If history was to repeat itself then NFTs would soon follow.
If you have been considering dipping your toe in the NFT waters then now may be the time to start considering options & researching what could be hot should the markets make a shift to the upside.
We gave some NFT ideas last week which we felt have strong teams & solid fundamentals. You can check the previous article here.
🍦SCOOPS OF THE WEEK
🍦Blur v Opensea
🍦Square Enix Chooses Polygon
🍦GQ's 1st NFT Collection Revealed
🍦Lamborghini Collection Coming On VEVE
Blur v Opensea
Following the successful launch of their native tokens, Blur has the gloves on and is ready to spar for the top spot.
Blur is targeting the touchy subject of royalties and they have highlighted that creators can earn full royalties on its platform. They even went as far as suggesting that creators block sales on OpenSea.
Blur released a blog (which can be read here) that outlines the various ways for creators to earn royalties highlighting that royalties can't be earned simultaneously on Blur and OpenSea. This shot may not be below the belt, but it will be one felt by Opensea.
The process of blocking sales on OpenSea is fairly straightforward for creators. What they need to do is add a code to their NFT contracts which will in turn restrict sales of their project on other marketplaces that do not honour royalties.
OpenSea is yet to return a dig but we don't recommend Blur drop the hands just yet.
Square Enix Chooses Polygon
Only a couple of weeks ago Square Enix invested 7bn Yen for the establishment of high quality mobile games, blockchain games and metaverse initiative.
In the blink of the eye they have already made their next move.
Square Enix is the company behind the project SymbiogenesisPR and they have chosen the Polygon blockchain for the venture.
The reasons are fairly straightforward and include high transaction speeds, low gas fees and user-friendliness.
The project itself is a very interesting one. 10,000 NFTs will be made available with the launch set for early spring. The concept is that players use the NFTs as their profile pictures and as a character in the game's storyline with the art continuing to evolve with each move made by users in the "virtual adventure"
Square Enix are very serious players in the gaming world and we have previously seen the success of storytelling projects. With the combination of the two, we are certainly bullish on this one.
GQ's 1st NFT Collection Revealed
Traditional men's magazine GQ is set to take its big step into the Metaverse with the launch of its first NFT.
Known as "GQ3 Issue 001: Change is Good" will be a collection of 1661 NFTs linked to one-of-a-kind art pieces. Each NFT will allow holders to claim utilities such as a GQ magazine subscription, a curated GQ box of products, exclusive merchandise and a ticket to the GQ3 party in April.
The project is set to mint on the 8th of March 2023 with the price set at 0.1957 ETH (linked to the year the magazine was founded)
Subscription-based companies, especially those in print journalism, should find the transition to Web3 from Web2 significantly easier than others...let's just hope they can execute it.

Lamborghini Collection Coming On VeVe
We have seen Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin and more but it's now back to Lamborghini to flex its Metaverse power.
In case you have not heard of the marketplace, VeVe "is the world's home of premium digital collectables, comics and artworks - all available in limited edition releases."
The collection is coming sooner than we expected, the 19th of February to be precise and consists of the Huracan STO model with a variety of rarity traits.
The co-founder of VeVe, Dan Crothers, is hopeful that onboarding Lamborghini to their platform will help bring a host of sports car fanatics to Web3.
🏆SCOOP'S WEEKLY WINNER
Dookey Dash didn't end all that long ago but the winner has been announced.
There were over 25,000 players but a known gamer found himself at the top of the leaderboard following the conclusion of play.
As a result of winning, a golden key was gifted to the winner which was quickly listed on OpenSea for 2222 ETH.
You can check out his last 3 minutes of play in obtaining the top score here.
Congratulations to Mongraal.
THE REKT SECTION 😡
It is becoming more common to see those who have laid low following a rug-pull to miraculously attempt a return to the space.
One of the co-founders behind the @NFT Instagram account is returning in Voldermort like fashion for their next venture.
In case you were not aware, those behind the account were accused of charging $100,000 for paid posts, ads which were published without disclosure and falsely listing investors.
This wasn't all, they were also accused of multiple scams and rug-pulls.
One of the co-founders, Aaron Avruskin, has returned to the space with his latest idea...a new browser-based mobile crypto game called "Rollies".
According to the pitch deck, Avruskin is seeking $6m in seed funding. The deck also claims that the project has onboarded Doodles, Pudgy Penguins, Sappy Seals and 6 other projects as partners.
In case you had any doubt about the legitimacy, Doodles were quick to shoot down any links regarding involvement.
File this one under things we hate to see.
