Strange.. Market sentiment has dropped 4 points since last week at 32, we now sit at 28. Come on guys, we have had another positive week! both in terms of total market cap & volume have jumped a further 10.67%. Things are heating up. Considering the past 6 months we have had from our perspective sentiment would be ticking higher.

But can you blame us? We are The NFT Scoop after all.

Ahh, the Melting Pot..one of the latest editions to the scoop. How has our basket of NFT gems performed this week? Let's dive in.

Below are the individual % changes in Floor price for each of our selections since we decided to Ape in.

Our strongest performers are still in the 'Generative 'Art' category with WonkyStonks & Friendship Bracelets.

Despite the drops in other projects' floor prices, we remain bullish on each of the other projects. The founder of The Plague 'Pons' just did a Twitter space with NFT Influencer 'Farokh' following that Farokh aped in and bought himself a 'Frog'. I

It's likely the pullbacks we have seen above were due to us buying after a pump in floor price so naturally there is some consolidation happening.

We were flip-flopping on whether or not to take profits on the Friendship Bracelets / Wonky Stonks and rotate the ETH into a Revealed Mutant Hound, Why? The community have be impressed by the reveal experience, the story/lore of the project & execution so far.

But we will hold for now, we feel friendship bracelets especially will push higher.

Yuga Labs Announces New Mint Procedure

TLDR

1. Obtain a sewer pass, either mint or on secondary

2. Use it to play the game

3. Keep playing until you score anything greater than 0

4. Keep you pass in the same wallet until Feb 15

5. You will then be eligible for next phase.

6. If you transfer the pass the high score will reset.

7. Scores recorded and associated with wallets.

8. Send the pass back to original wallet, pass will display original score.

It's a far distance from the airdrops that have raked in tens of thousands of dollars but the long-term play might just be genius.

Yuga Labs announced on the 11th of January 2023 via BAYC Twitter that the next expansion of their ecosystem will be arriving next week.

The concept is extremely different to anything we have seen before and it consists of a skill-based game.

A free mint will occur on the 17th of January for current holders of BAYC and MAYC NFTs, with the items to be named Sewer Passes

The Sewer Passes (which are effectively tokens) will be the key to unlocking a skill-based game called Dookey Dash, the passes will be tiered, and each tier will have different points and bonuses. Game play commences on the 18th of January

If you have ever played Temple-run, we understand Dookey Dash will be similar in style, which will require players to get as far as possible throughout the level or in this case 'Sewer' avoiding obstacles and accumulating points. One slip-up and you're done.

The game will be available to anyone who owns a Sewer Pass, this includes those that were bought on the secondary market, warning (we don't think they will be cheap). But if you can Scoop one up & fancy your hand at a skill-based game, we feel it's certainly worth it.

In terms of gaming play-time, this is unlimited and all users have to do is obtain a score higher than 0 to validate their pass which will "transform them into a mysterious power source" which needs to be done by the time the game ends on February 15th.

It has been hinted that whatever power source your pass evolves into will continue to evolve throughout 2023 and will be used in future battles.

We just can't help but wonder if using a skill-based game to qualify for mint is a way around the SEC's watchful eye.

Azuki Reveal Hilumia

Azuki's Anniversary was featured in the Hot This Week Section of our previous newsletter, we weren't sure of the concept but it's safe to say we haven't been let down.

The Blue-Chip project announced, the day before their birthday, a virtual world called Hilumia.

Described as " a world that's created by more and owned by all...to all creators, artists and defenders of the garden...here's to Azuki, an anime universe we're creating together"

Not much is known about the virtual world that has just been revealed other than it will hold the past, present and future of the brand.

It has the space excited and it's certainly one to keep your eyes on as more details are likely to be revealed over the next coming days...don't worry we will have you covered as always.

Instagram NFTs Proving To Be A Success

It was certainly the biggest asset to mass adoption given the platform has 2bn active users monthly, we just weren't sure how successful NFTs would be.

It was key that the correct influencers were used for any success the platform was to have in its adoption of NFTs as we have seen with Reddit, sometimes less is more.

The stats have painted a positive story so far with several collections selling out in a short space of time. The above point regarding the correct influencers has been key as it has maintained those already within the Web3 world as well as closing a gap between Web2 and Web3 users.

The most recent launch, Aku Dreams which launched on the 8th of January, sold out in 11 seconds on Instagram which is remarkable. The creator behind the project is Micah Johnson who is an artist that has been featured on the cover of TIME.

It's certainly going to be an exciting year for Instagram as they seem to hold the key to mass adoption in our space as well as a safe bridge for those looking to cross into the world of Web3.

MINTangible - The IP Protectors

In case you have not heard of them, MINTangible is the leading company for all things intellectual property and rights management so far as Web3 is concerned.

They have recently launched a blockchain solution which will allow brands and creators to digitally bind IP Licence and royalty terms to their NFTs.

We are now seeing a whole host of issues surrounding this matter ending up in the courtroom so this latest invention offers a solution for NFT creators to safeguard their IP whilst increasing the growth of their work across the market.

How does it work?

The system will generate a protocol-driven IP rights structure that will digitally bind to NFTs. Each NFT that is signed up to the system will then receive a certification and a public rights registry listing for easy verification of rights information.

The company has made it clear that its software is available for existing NFT collections and is offering free IP assessments of NFTs. Check them out here.

🏆SCOOP'S WEEKLY WINNER

We hope you read our top NFT projects you can't ignore last week as a predicted gem has hit the headlines.

Potatoz hit a high before the mint of Captainz as holding a Potatoz, granted you entry to mint a Captainz and if you minted a Captainz then you will already know what is coming.

The mint took place on the 4th of January and it is safe to say was far from a cheap one coming at the cost of 1.069 ETH. However, if you were bullish on the project and DYOR you would know this was probably the safest 1.069 you were ever going to spend.

As predicted, the mint sold out and the floor rocketed, hitting highs of 6 ETH before retracing to 4.9 ETH and now back to 5.2 ETH.

The 9999 item collection has already done over 7k in volume.

With the reveal yet to happen we do expect this floor to be a little volatile in the coming weeks however a 5x was on offer to those who minted and in these conditions it's fair to say this was a resounding success.

THE REKT SECTION 😡

A new scam has been revealed but thankfully Metamask has managed to spread awareness.

Unfortunately, people have been duped by the scam called "Address Poisoning".

How the scam works:

Scammers, watch transactions of large amounts, they then send a transaction to the wallet that holds a large amount of crypto or NFTs The scammer will send a $0.00 value token to your wallet from a wallet address that resembles the same starting and ending characters of a wallet address you have sent tokens to before, e.g a second wallet or a friend's wallet. They do this by using a vanity address generator.

Once the token is sent, the address/wallet is then poisoned.

As crypto addresses are long, individuals become comfortable with copying & pasting addresses and recognizing them for starting & last few digits of the address. Should the user's wallet be poisoned they are then at risk by copying and pasting the poisoned address from their transaction history, and unknowingly sending funds to the hacker's wallet, but with the intention of sending it to a second wallet.

Unfortunately, there is no way to stop tokens from being received but please read the following article, released by Metamask, which explains what you can do to protect yourself.

Another clever scam, we have had enough. To be safe and ensure you don't copy addresses from your transaction history.
