State of the Market ⚡

Well from what we can see below Scoop Family, apparently the rest of the market is feeling very sheepish towards NFTs right now. The below doesn’t make for much pleasant viewing.

8! …. 8!…. NFTs are more exciting than that aren’t they? Well, we know you as our readers of course gripped to your screens, ready as Scoops about to lay down the news & what is going on in the NFT space!

In terms of volume of the overall NFT market, which is currently hitting all-time lows. You could say the Volume of NFTS is down… down to Goblin-town right now. On September 4th we closed on $8.4M dollars Volume total (amount of NFTS traded / bought and sold) To put that into perspective.. Pixelmon raised $70M in their mint alone, which later after their NFT reveal they turned out to be the laughing stock of the NFT space.. But hey we got some great memes out of it. That’s what we are all here for right?

It’s certainly a tough time for new projects to launch right now with little liquidity in the market.

The $ETH Merge Countdown Begins

Ethereum’s Merge is now underway and will likely be complete sometime around Sep -13-16th. As of today, the Bellatrix upgrade was activated which marks the beginning of the transition of Ethereum’s proof-of-work (PoW) chain to the proof-of-stake (PoS) Beacon Chain.

Y00ts by Degods was delayed by 24 hours - But the mint is taking place!

If you are not aware, this is the most anticipated project launch involving Solana yet.

The initial mint was to take place on the 2nd September however it was pushed back to 4th September.

On the night of the 4th the project revealed that they were running into a blocker bug.

Due to the nature of the bug, the project decided to postpone the mint for around 24 hours.

Degods seem to be the Bored Ape of Solana. We are currently seeing 140 SOL Floor price on the ‘T00bs’ which can be burned for a Y00ts NFT. However, the project is taunting us with more surprises. On Magic Eden, it states, will you burn your T00bs for a Y00t, or keep your T00bs?

But we decided to buy one anyway…

FIFA Launch NFT Ahead of Winter World Cup

With the World Cup set to kick off in November, FIFA (who are Football / Soccer’s Governing Body) have announced that they will be launching a NFT Platform for Football / Soccer-themed collections.

The platform known as, FIFA+ Collect, is set to launch later in September and will contain “affordable, inclusive, and accessible” NFTs that depict notable Football / Soccer moments, art, and imagery.

The NFT platform has been created as part of the partnership with Algorand which was announced earlier this year.

New Marketplace to Hit Cardano

Wafini, a new NFT marketplace that has been built on Cardano, is set to launch its Multi Asset NFT marketplace.

Features include users having the ability to sell Cardano NFTs as an offer bundle, instead of listing them individually.

The new marketplace will be the first of its kind in that it offers a treasury pool that will be filled with a percentage of transaction fees on the marketplace which would be distributed at intervals to Wafini Genesis VIP NFT holders who have staked their tokens and NFTs to become part of the Wafini DAO.

Wafini have stated that any interested investors should have a minimum of 500 ADA. With this, they will be able to join the Wafini private seed sale whitelist. The private seed sale is to be commenced by October 1 or at a period when at least 1000 whitelist spots have been reserved.

LG Marketplace which you can control from your Television

8 months from announcing their initial plan, LG Electronics has now announced that it has released its NFT platform, LG Art Lab.

The Platform will allow users to discover, buy, sell and trade NFTs on LG’s smart TVs and it is now available in the U.S. only to those with Smart LG TVs running webOS 5.0 or later and is accessible directly from the home screen.

Rivals Samsung following their intention to create their own marketplace, also unveiled its new smart TV-based NFT marketplace plan back in January.

As long as it gets your eyes away from the News this isn’t a bad feature.

Bill Murray Hack Following Charity Auction

Following the closing of Bill Murray’s NFT auction which took place on Coinbase Marketplace raising 119.2 ETH for charity, a hacker stole the funds.

The hacker then attempted to steal from Murray’s personal collection but thankfully the actor had the benefit of a wallet security team that protected his assets which include a Damien Hirst NFT, two CryptoPunks, a Pudgy Penguin, a Cool Cat and numerous Flower Girls.

Unfortunately, the stolen funds for charity have not been recovered however, a runner-up in the auction has sent 120 ETH to the chosen Charity to replace what was lost.

Just goes to show for all the bad around us there still remains plenty of good.

A quick reminder that even the most protected and sophisticated securities can be breached….. be careful!

Scoop’s Weekly Winner 🏆

What is it about Music NFT’s that are claiming all the awards…..we suppose they are kind of used to trophies in the industry.

Well, this week’s winner is Muse.

The band made history with their latest album “Will Of The People” which became the UK's first number 1 album to incorporate NFT technology.

The NFT version of the album was limited to 1,000 copies globally, and along with a different sleeve, came with a downloadable version that the band had digitally signed.

Each of the 1,000 buyers also had their names permanently listed on the linked roster of purchasers.

NFTs are certainly being well accepted in the Music industry, let’s just hope the rest of the world catch on.

It’s not often we get irony in our space…. who are we kidding, it’s all around us.

Well imagine a well-respected Rug Pull Finder that offers contract auditing services failing to check their own contract for their own NFT…. yup that happened.

The Project’s NFT which was launched at the end of last week and had a major flaw in the contract where 2 people were able to purchase over 450 NFTs.

To be fair to those behind the project they held their hands up admitting that they did not get their own team to audit the contract or have a 3rd party investigate.

The mistake has brought with it a costly price with the project agreeing to purchase 366 of the remaining NFTs for 2.5 ETH.

Mistakes can happen to the best of us but making a mistake of the same nature the project specializes in identifying….it can only be REKT.

Where would we blow 5-10ETH in this market? 💰

It’s a challenging market to be doing any ‘Apeing’ right now…..that being said we do have to bring up the Potatoz again. They currently sit at a Floor of 1.58ETH. We have long-term conviction in this project & love their slow staged reveal. Currently, we are at the Potatoz on all fours wagging their butts in a cute dog-like fashion stage. Some of them even shoot lazers from their rear end. Yes, you read that correctly and people are lapping it up.
